Based in Kangaroo Valley, NSW, the practice specialises in residential design including new dwellings, additions to dwellings and heritage projects.
David Cox has been designing buildings since graduating from the University of Technology with a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1988.
As a sole practitioner, David Cox is involved in every aspect of each project from:
-site assessment
-concept development
-detailed documentation
-the approval process
-inspections of the construction stage through to completion of the building.
The design process is informed by the clients’ aims, requirements & preferences together with any opportunities or restrictions presented by the site (as identified by the site assessment) as well as any regulatory restrictions imposed by consent authorities.
The resulting design is a unique response to the circumstances.
Design principles that are consistent across all projects include environmentally responsible outcomes, passive solar principles and in the case of rural dwellings, a desire for the building to sit discreetly within the landscape.
